Yet again another fantastic visit with the added benefit that the steam trains are again running. Before I start the review about the site I am going to talk about the wardens! I found them very attentive and welcoming. The site is well maintained and extra covid precautions are in place. I don’t understand why they get such bad press in some reviews (and have never really understood this). On arrival I booked in with the very pleasant female warden and throughout my stay spoke to all the staff off and on, who were very pleasant and chatty. They walk the site every day to see if everyone is ok and regularly empty the bins etc. Being a solo caravan owner (discounting my cat that comes along) it is a little inconvenient for me as the key fob on the first barrier is passenger side. This is easily resolved as reception have extension sticks so no need to leave the car. The Brown cow seems to shut at 9pm so after this time their is very little noise. The steam trains are running again so if you pitch near the track you get a fab view. Some site pitches could do with new gravel but during my stay we had very heavy rain. The site coped well with this and seemed to drain quickly. This site is still in my top 5 and I really enjoy coming here.
