We have stayed at Burrswood a number of times, and it's always a great place to visit. The steam trains are naturally always a talking point, and it's great to see the trains steaming by, with happy passengers waving at you. Now, with the sites own station, it's possible to catch a train in either direction, Rawtenstall, or, Heywood.On our latest visit, we took the Metro into Manchester in order to visit the Museum of Science & Industry, where the Soyuz spacecraft that took Tim Peake to and from the International Space Station in 2016 is on display until May 2018. There really is plenty to see and do, We also managed a couple of the walks around the Burrswood Country Park, plenty of wildlife and interesting sculptures along the way. So, is it worth a visit?, well yes it certainly is, and we will surely be back again before too long.
