Another great stay at Burrs. Facilities were clean and well looked after as always. Site clean and well laid out. Plenty of space between pitches and lots of green space. Great place to watch and catch the steam trains on the East Lancs Railway.
Helpful and Friendly staff
The Site manager, Ellie. was very helpful when I had to call as we had a problem with our outfit before setting off. She called me back and said that she was able to amend our booking (for a charge - fair enough it was on the day) so we didn't have to shorten our stay.
When we arrived on Thursday it was quiet. There were lots of pitches to choose from. Come Friday there was a huge influx of motorhomes with a few caravans and the site became full for the weekend. However it still remained quiet and peaceful. We very much like that the site layout isn't in rows. There are curves and areas off the main ring.
Although you travel through an urban area to get there the site is on the edge of the countryside. There are walks from the site along the river and further afield. You can also walk into Bury to visit the famous market.
Watching the steam and diesel locomotives with their carriages chug by brought back chikdhood memories. Have to have a ride on the train when we come back.
The friendly, helpful team are one of the reasons to return to the site.

Worth the Visit
Even though we live less than 10 miles from the site, we've stayed here on several occasions: mainly as a try-out for a new campervan/motorhome. Having stayed here in October 2021 and January 2024, we enjoyed our latest visit and have decided we'll be using it more often and it is well located for us to explore the local area.
This time, with our new motorhome, we decided on a 2-night stay and even with several years experience behind us, we still had a few teething problems but easily sorted. Although we stayed our of season, we found the peace and quiet great but with the ELR on the doorstep, we'd recommend using this to explore the area when it reopens.
For us, as we've two dogs, we enjoy the walking, and ventured into Bury via a riverside walk.
Additionally, on our leaving date, we had a breakfast at the café just outside the site and would heartily recommend that too
All in all, a good break and planning a return soon
Shame about the weather
This is a spacious and well maintained site with good access to local walks and cycle rides as well as plenty of scope if you are prepared travel a bit further. Unfortunately our stay was cut short because of awful weather. However, we will be back at some point in the future to pick up where we left off.
Cold and frosty but a warm welcome!
This is our third visit this year, it has so much to offer… a pub, cafe and parkland on its doorstep, all of which are dog friendly. There’s also a lovely garden centre within a 10 min drive. The site staff are friendly too. We will be back!
Well located. Friendly Staff
Although we're not too far away, it's well worth using this site for visits to Manchester and Bury Market. On the edge of town but only a short (30 minute) walk to the centre of Bury. The showers were great, the staff welcoming and the site well laid out. And if you don't want to cook there's even a pub just outside the gate!
Lovely and friendly site
We use Burrs Park as our go to site as it is local but doesn’t feel like you are close to a town. Wardens are lovely, facilities are always clean and tidy and steam trains are an unusual feature to a site. Good for dog walking in the adjoining park, dog walk area on site isn’t great as it has no lights and people seem to think it is fine not to clean up after using it. This is not the sites problem but just other visitors being lazy.
Wardens do a great job of keeping the site clean and tidy.
Overall good site
Stayed here a few times before. Great overall site. Go on the train, it’s great…not always cheaper using the CAMC discount, so check the website first. The guy who checked us in seemed to be having a bad day, he wasn’t impressed as we forgot to bring in our membership number (oops….long journey beforehand, so we were a bit tired), sorry but we all make mistakes.
One Night Stopover
We stayed one night here on our way up to Scotland. The site was in a lovely location and we were glad to be able to stretch our legs with a walk in the country park after a long journey. the facilities were very clean and the pitch was lovely and big. Enjoyed the steam train going past and we were blessed with lovely weather so could just sit out and relax.
Stop over
Nice site clean and tidy we only stayed one night on our way north. I used my satnav to the site which took me by the woodhill road to the next right turn Hunstanton Drive which apart from a way traffic slowing measures was not a problem. PS if you have the family china in the van make sure its safe the last 300 yds will test it out. We used the pub outside the main gate to eat that night found the food rushed a little everything could of done with another minute we think it was very busy that night (Saturday) also with it being a small bar and 3 dogs eyeing up my mixed grill it was not a pleasant experience.
