Peaceful stay in the Cortswolds
Our first visit to Burford and we intend to be back. The friendliness of the wardens, from check in to exchanges around the site was exceptional with the extra work and restrictions place upon everybody by the pandemic. We were pleased to find a choice of several hard standing pitches (grass pitches now closed for winter) and even at the weekend the site was not completely full. Felt very health-secure as even the outside water taps were disinfectant wiped several times daily., and 50% of the facilities currently in use within the blocks - still did not have to queue.
We walked across into Cotswolds Wildlife Park (booked the day before on line with discount) and also visited Witney, Lechlade and Burford itself. Wow! Up to 3 hours free parking. Would recommend the rather eccentric Wool Museum in Witney (with good restaurant) and the Cotswolds Weavers Barn in nearby Filkins for far more interest than the many blankets! Access to the site is easy with touch-card barriers and the overall impression is space and greenery. Nice to nod off at twilight to the sound of owls hooting!
