Lovely site shame about the pigeons
We stayed on this site for 4 days in August this year having previously stayed for 8 days last June. The location is great for discovering the Cotswolds and Oxford and the village of Burford is picture perfect and great for a wander around and stop at one of the many cafes, restaurants or ice cream shops.
The site is well laid out with spacious pitches, although ther are quite a lot of trees around the perimeter and around the site itself.
This has led to the unfortunate issue of the pigeons!, large numbers of them are roosting in the trees and they descend on the caravan roofs at first light, pecking and scratching and messing on the caravan roof. This drives you insane as it was only 5-30 am!, I checked with the other members next to us and they had the same problem.
It became impossible to sleep after this and after 4 nights my wife was desperate to leave just to get some sleep so we came home early.
This also happened to us last year at the same site when we were pitched on the north side of the site so we chose a pitch in the south perimeter this time but with the same result, no sleep.
It's such a shame as the site is our favourite in the Cotswolds but because of the pigeons I'm afraid we won't be returning.
I'm not sure if anything can be done about the pigeons, as they seem to be everywhere and I have spent the afternoon cleaning the caravan roof of the mess the scratches off my car roof.
