An excellent site
We stayed here for 19 nights from late July to August and thoroughly enjoyed every minute. Burford is an amazing and intriguing site. It is very spacious yet because of the trees you think it’s much smaller than it actually is. It has both hard standing and grass pitches, and 10 or so service pitches. All pitches are huge and many have large areas to the side and behind them, we were on a service pitch and we had two very large grass strips either side and another caravan could easily have fitted behind us. It has two dog walks, and the biggest play area I’ve seen, it has a half football sized field and lots of play equipment as well, swings, large climbing frame with slide. In fact it is an excellent family site. Also of interest is that there are two separate toilet/showers areas within the same building for both sexes so there was never a queue in the mornings and always one block open at all times as well as a separate toilet and another disabled toilet. Naturally the whole site, including the toilets is kept to the very high standards expected of the club and it is a credit to the hardworking and very friendly wardens. They also stock a very good shop and the information room is excellent. But the most intriguing thing is that it was only full at weekends and only half to two thirds full during the week, the wardens themselves called it a ‘weekend site’. There is no bus service from the site but there is parking instructions for motor homes for parking in Burford. There are the usual supermarkets in the area, the nearest being a few miles away. There is so much to do in the surrounding area, and Oxford has an excellent park and ride which is only 20 minutes away. All in all an excellent site. Thank you wardens.
