Jewel of the Highlands

We once again stayed at Bunree and once again we were met with a smile and a giggle....feels like coming home each time we stay... We always book a none awning pitch as it can at times be a spot breezy, also the view WOW the view..a few bits of local info to make your stay even better...here we go.. 1 try to book early in the season as this site gets busy but never crowded.. 2 the local shop (Co-op) is really well stocked 3 miles back towards Glen Coe on the right over the big bridge.. 4 go over the water to Corren on the ferry £8 per car each way not the cheapest but once over drive slowly out the village near low tide if possible and you WILL sea an Otter or two and very likely a Sea eagle all with in view of the site across the water.. 5 Mull is a must its £24 return from Lochaline the drive down to Lochaline is breathtaking let alone Mull.....journey time from Bunree approx 1 hour.. 6 just across the road is the best short walk up to a beautiful summit of of the surrounding hills to the camp site total walk time around an hour well signed and a good path steep in places but well worth it we saw a Golden eagle close to us but the jewel here are the abundance of friendly red squirrels they play all around the car park and there is a special hide where you are only at times inches from these wonderful little fellas....route come out of campsite turn left then immediate right follow the road to the end and park in the car park from there easy to follow sign posts.. in summery this site is a wonderful base for any wildlife lover weather your professional photographer or just happy snapper there is an opportunity every minute of the day to be wowed...and finally thank you to the staff who bend over backwards to help and accommodate all
