Lovely location on the east coast. Five minute walk across the golf course adjacent, to the beach. Stunning red sand beach. Weather was showery and cold during our visit but who cares with such views and scenery all around! As in a lot of sites, showers and toilet facilities were a bit tired but exceptionally clean. We appreciated the book and DVD exchange or a donation could be made instead if you have none the swap. Brora has a coop for supplies and can be walked to up the golf course if you like but we stopped back there after our day out. It has an ice cream shop and a couple of take aways as far as we could see…we didn’t use them this time. We stayed for two nights and explored the coast road up as far as Wick. Helmsdale has a great fish and chip shop ( huge portions) and also a restaurant. We got fish and chips and ate them overlooking the harbour. Also there is a nice harbour and walk to a Fairy Glen at Latheron Wheel. Staff were brilliant and so friendly. Birds a bit noisy at night and you could hear the sound of the train in the distance but it didn’t overly bother us as you get used to it after a while. We would definitely return when in the area.
