A Special site by the sea
The Brora site is a very special one , in a very special part of Scotland.
The site itself is clean and very tidy and the facilities well up to the usual Caravan and Motorhome standards. Showers we found particularly good, with plentiful hot water.
As mentioned a short walk across the nearby Golf links and you will find 3 km of stunningly beautiful beach. Ideal for exercising your dogs (there is also a smallish area adjacent to the site) and the beach is also ideal for exercising yourself!
The town of Brora can be reached either by walking down the beach or along the coastal path that runs down the side of the Golf Links. If you decide to take the beach route you’ll need to cross some small streams that flow onto the shore. Easily done with decent footwear, or none at all, after all, you’re on a beach.
The Brora town walk guide is available at the site reception and it is well worth picking up a copy (it’s free). There is a lot of history in Brora, from the Temperance Hall (now used by the 1st Brora Brownies amongst others!) to the defunct GCHQ “Y” listening station from WW2 and the Cold War. There was even a coal mind at one point. The walk from the site, around the town, and back again will take around leisurely 2.5 hours, but you can take longer by stopping for “refreshment” in the town.
So, a site we would heartily recommend and will certainly re-visit
