WINDY STAY

Our stay was between Monday the 20th March and should have finished Friday the 24th March. Things were going well although the weather wasn't playing fair. Monday showers and windy Tuesday windy but sunny with it, Wednesday a wash out had evening meal in the Kings Head. Thursday went into Heathfield Old heathfield (still windy) and Waldron. As I lived in Heathfield for several years I know my way around so took Yvonne (my long standing partner on a tour of local pubs) starting at the Prince of Wales in Heathfield only to find it was closed for improvements by the new owners. So onto the Star at Old Heathfield (best pub garden ever) one pint and onto the Star at Waldron. Not been in the pub for seventeen years but still same landlord (Paul) who has been there thirty five years ! another pint or two and on back to East Hoathly, was going to finish up at the Kings Head but went straight to site as getting hungry. Shock horror!! bathroom Heki roof light on the floor as it was now blowing a gale. Packed up awning etc. and set of for home post haste before the rains came (or as it happens they didn't) made it home safely after a pretty quick trip. Love this peaceful site and new staff made us welcome will be back later in the year.
