Bank Holiday Break

We stayed at Broomfield Park as a last minute get-a-way for the August Bank Holiday weekend.  We found the site to be well maintained and clean.  The lack of any real facilities (toilet block, showers etc) means that I cannot really rate the 'facilities' that highly although the water and waste points were clean and free from excess rubbish etc.  The site is nice and quiet and made for an ideal base to explore Sussex.  The warden insisted that we park the caravan 'on peg' however we soon found (after choosing our peg - No 75)  that to do this left no room to park our car on the pitch so we placed the caravan as tight as we could to one side (still on pitch) to enable enough room for us to park our car.  There is a nice walk from the site to the local village of East Hoathly too. The narrow lanes on the approach to and from the site are a bit tight, especially if you meet someone coming the other way. Overall this is a nice quiet site, ideal if you want to get a way from it all for a few days. We traveled with our two children (aged 11 and 8) who played non-stop with other children in the woods and on the field; we never had any issues with the warden and were warmly received by all.
