We spent 4 nights here. The site is based in 2 levels of a quarry, completely surrounded by trees. The first impression is marvellous, flowers all over the front of the office and still more around the upper service point. The wardens were helpful and welcoming. The only slight downer is that some of the pitches are a bit awkward and the hard standings are very narrow. There is a bit of noise from the nearby A44, but it was only intrusive when unsilenced motorbikes raced up the hill. Very handy for National Trust's Brockhampton Estate and the interesting shops in the small town of Bromyard itself. I have had to give 5 for "facilities and cleanliness", though there aren't any actual facilities the site is kept clean and tidy.
A Break at Bromyard
Bromyard Downs is a small, pretty no facilities site on 2 levels, it has a mix of HS and grass pitches, & Each section has its own service point.
The site is situated just of the A44 so depending on where you pitch there can be a fair bit of road noise.
Most of the HS pitches are quite narrow so if you have an awning the car has to be parked across the front of the pitch. The grass pitches were not in use when we visited. There is a footpath from the top of the site which takes you to the entrance of the Brockhampton Estate, which has extensive walks in the parkland, & a moated manor house.
Bromyard is a lovely little town, with lots of independent shops including a good butchers & bakery, there is also a coop supermarket. The site information hut had details of lots of walks in the area too, including over the downs.
We visited Ludlow and Berrington Hall, and can recommend both.
There is no play area on site, so it may not suit families.
We enjoyed our stay and would definitely return.
The perfect get away
Brilliant, small site, superbly situated and beautifully run. There’s no toilet block so if, like me, you always use your own bathroom it’s great- you’re not paying for something here you don’t use. There’s so much to do in the area and the site itself is gem. You leave the world behind when you drive through the entrance. Some pitches are small and it is in a bit of time warp- caravanning of yesteryear- but is that a bad thing? I loved staying here and the wardens are just great.
Great service by wardens
Stayed here recently during the freezing weather conditions and experienced a heavy fall of snow during our stay.
Full marks to the wardens who visited us on both mornings to make sure we were ok and brought us supplies of water, as the site taps had frozen.
We use this site as a base to visit Worcester and to walk on The Downs, good value for money at £14.
Excellent Site
We stay regularly at this small site which is excellent value for money. As a previous reviewer said, the road (A44) is busy and noisy but doesn't have a huge impact on the site and, as the rest of the site is very quite, its easily forgotten about. There are very limited facilities and there's not a lot of space for children but the service areas are well maintained and the herb trough (help yourself) is very welcome. The location is excellent for both walks from the site, walks further afield and exploring by car with plenty of local attractions within easy reach - Bromyard Downs have great views, Lower Brockhampton is well worth exploring and Bromyard town is worth exploring. We always aim for a hardstanding as some of the grass pitches seem soft but I'm sure the wardens will guide you on this.

Peaceful woodland getaway
This was our first time here for my husband and I and we found it very quiet and friendly. We chose pitch No 5 which was a hardstanding pitch in the lower area, as it was below the road we were not bothered by any road noise. We stayed for 9 nights.
I really liked the large wooden trough of fresh herbs grown by the wardens which we could pick for our cooking, the site was attractive with tubs of flowers.
We have 2 springer spaniels and we were able to walk them on the Downs which were sheep free and had wooded areas as well.
The places we visited were the lovely villages round the Malvern hills, Ludlow which has a local produce market and a super castle, Stokesay castle, N.T. properties Hanbury hall, Croome, which has an RAF Museum, Croft castle, Berrington court and Brockhampton estate.
The Wardens were very friendly and helpful we will definitely stay here again.
Border Collie Heaven
Surrounded by trees and greenery I thoroughly recommend this site for a peaceful and restful stay. The site is beautifully maintained by the Wardens who are friendly and helpful and the pitches are nicely spaced out.If you go off site there many places of interest to visit. My 3 energetic collies have insisted we return as you are just spoilt for choice of walks all off lead.Plus the extra bonus of Brockhampton Estate just outside the site with miles of free walking just watch out for sheep. One of the best sites Ihave visited we will return.

Simple and basic site
If you enjoy a no frills site this could be for you but the road noise is awful and the dog walk is overgrown muddy & very slippy no fun in the rain also Brockhampton national trust which is across the road is now charging £5.00 each to walk in the parkland so dog walking is no fun. pitch sizes are small and close together if you have a awning you will find you have nowhere to park your car.
Great site for walking and exploring
This is the second time we've stayed on this lovely site this year, and it won't be our last. It's in a great location for exploring the wider area, but you could spend your time on many different walks from the site. There are no facilities to comment on but the friendly wardens do keep the site immaculate. There is traffic noise from the A44 which is a busy road, but it shouldn't put you off staying. Great deal on our recent visit at £14 per night.
