Noisy football match

A very good clean site. Very quiet until the football match started at 19:45 - Whitehawk Football Club is right next to the Motorhome site and the evening of 24 October they were playing at home against Bognor Regis. The noise of shouting and singing of rival fans was overpowering and very frightening. The site gave us no warning and since the football club is immediately adjacent to the site the management are obviously aware of the upheavel caused when home matches are on. The shouting ended by 22:00 so that was one blessing. We should have been made aware with signage in the reception so we could at least prepare of the noise.

Before booking any site we have not used before the first thing we do is to go online and check Street View to see if there is anything in the area that may concern us. If I saw that there was a small Non League football ground adjacent I would then check to see what games are on during our stay if I thought it would bother us.  It’s not like being adjacent to Old Trafford !!

In my opinion it’s not the job of the wardens to provide such information. I think members should do their own research beforehand and not rely on others.
