Great site on the slopes of Vesuvious

I have just spent 10 days at Brighton and agree with previous reviewers that the site is in a great location but the pitches are not fit for purpose.. I was unable to put up my awning even with rock pegs on my hard standing with awning serviced pitch. I raised the issue with a female warden who responded with some drivel about there being underground movement turning the ground into concrete. This is Brighton not Pompeii. The site has not been hit by a pyroclastic flow.. Come on give us some credit. This site is on the South Downs which are limestone and soft rock. Also, during my stay, the WIFI did not work once, the phone hardly worked at all and my outfit was covered in tree sap from the overhanging trees on my service pitch. Would I go there again.. yes but when the club has refurbed it.

As a Scout I was always taught to be prepared, so when we turn up on a pitch with a hard standing that's very difficult to hammer in pegs, we get out our 2 circular gazebo leg weights. They fill with water and fit around the awning poles and keep them weighed down. Available on good shopping websites. Be prepared and you'll enjoy the outdoors!
