Dog owners spoiling for others!

Been here many many times over a 10+ years, always very clean and tidy wardens very helpful. Lots to do in area and love Brighton lanes....but, last few visits have been spoiled by inconsiderate dog owners. There are NO dog walking--toilet--facilities on site but dog owners ignore this rule. Before dog owners say a few spoil it for the many, I would say 90% of dog owners chose to walk their dogs on site rather walk 100 Yds. to walk off site. Time to say if no dog toilet facilities on site NO dogs.

I am a dog owner and have been one for a very long time even before there were no dog facilities on site and yes we do walk around the site with our dog but always clean up.  I will say it though that there are dog owners who do spoil it for the majority by not cleaning up after their dogs even on the specific areas for walking dogs, but it is wrong to say that no dog toilet facilities on site NO dogs, as the same could apply no childrens playing facilities on site NO children.

If you exercise your dog on a club site to enable it to empty its bowels on site that is not acceptable

Absolutely right. If I allowed my granddaughter to poo outside lindenlea's caravan/ motorhome, but said I cleaned it up afterwards,  would lindenlea be happy, I doubt it very much. When onsite all dogs should only be allowed  to relieve themselves either in the designated dog walk or off site. If a dog is trained properly it can do its business on command. There is no excuse for allowing dogs to mess onsite.

That’s a ridiculous remark. I’ve never known anyone walk away & leave there dog mess.we are all responsible owners . Maybe people should also instruct their children not to kick or hit balls at people’s Motorhomes/caravans. Actually  we stayed at Brighton last year & last week & some female member left excrement all round the toilet  seat & bowl  & walked  away  & expects the staff to clean that up, this is not acceptable. Trouble is you never catch people like that The staff there are brilliant .

Even when members do attempt to clean up, they generally still leave often a residual mess on the grass, road, etc which is not acceptable. Never have I seen anyone going out with a bowl of hot soapy water to clean up after them. I stand by my comment that dogs should be exercised off site and there is no excuse for any messing on site even if members attempt to clean up afterwards. Dogs can be trained to do their business on command if members can be bothered to make the effort.

My dog generally does its business on designated dog walks or off site, as we have trained her to do so, but mistakes does sometimes happen, and we have GrandpaGraham gone with a bowl of hot soapy water to clean up, but I agree with Crazy kid about the mess people leave in the toilets and the amount of toilet paper on the floor, even been in a shower whereby someone had relieved themselves so that was left for the wardens to clean they did not go with a bowl of hot soapy water to clean up.

Not all dog owners are responsible as, even if they do clean up, there are some who do not exercise their dogs off the main site sadly

Perhaps it’s time the substantial percentage of dog owning folk went and joined the friendly club, leaving the grumpy bunch to fill the resulting financial hole!

I suspect that the majority of 'dog owning folk' are equally as appalled by the behaviour shown by a few owners.
