The week before Easter

Visited the site for 6 days during the week before Easter and leaving on Good Friday, like a previous reviewer I do not think it right for the club to charge peak prices for this week so that's the moan out of the way. We had visited the site several times in the past as we like the area and are particularly fond of the very regular bus services from not far from the site. This suits us as we both have bus passes. The site is maintained immaculately and the wardens are very helpful if you have a problem.

Great site, shame about some people being dirty scumbags!!

Lovely site and wardens friendley and helpfull, great for the dogs with East Brighton park just outside the gate. NOW TIME FOR RANT !!!, The wardens work hard and keep the place shipshape, they shouldnt have to put up with dirty scumbags, in one of the gents showers some dirty scum had done a no 2s, why the hell when there are toilets in the same block and if something untoward happens why the f dont they clear up after themselves??, what is their house like if this is how they behave?. Feal really sorry for the wardens as all their hard work keeping the site and facilities clean and tidy is ruined by the scumbucket!!. If i found out who done this they would get it smeared in their scumbag face!. END OF RANT !! Will deffo come back here as Brighton is such a nice sea side place and the site is great !

All round excellence

I liked this site which was really well kept, clean and fresh and bright and open – with no sign of the claustrophobic, shut-in atmosphere of so many sites. The wardens who greeted me were new, that day, but they were friendly and welcoming, even though I was a bit late. The site is very big. Some pitches are on a slightly higher level than most. If you rely on your feet to get you around you won’t want to be pitched too far from the entrance. It’s a good walk along the road from the site entrance to the main road and then to buses (which are very frequent with opportunities to go much farther afield) and shops. As a consequence you’ll probably be wanting to keep the walk from your pitch to the entrance to a minimum. The farthest most pitches are a quarter of a mile from the entrance. That’s an observation not a criticism. It is how it is and no one expects change. The walk back, whether from the nearest bus, the shops or the marina (in total the marina is a little over a mile’s walk) is almost entirely uphill. The shower blocks were excellent and the motorhome service points very good – especially the one nearest the entrance which allows easy access. It lacks the new style drainage points but hopefully that will come soon. The pitches were excellent too. It is a shame there is no access to the downs to the east of the site from the site itself, but these can be accessed from a small park about two thirds of the way down the lane to the site. These lovely rolling hills afford really great walks and some truly beautiful views to the coast, Peacehaven and Brighton. The Whitehawk football club is immediately adjacent to the site. If there’s a match on during your stay, I imagine this could be distracting; but this is hardly a show stopper given the short time involved and the infrequent number of occasions it will occur. The fish I had from the fish and chip van was one of the best pieces of fish I have had from a chippie in years. Unfortunately, the chips did not match this high level of distinction, tasting rather like the oven variety (though they weren't). Why are "van" chips never like traditional chip-shop chips? Anyway, this is not very relevant to the fact that Brighton CC Site is most definitely a very good place to be and I much liked it and everything about it. I would highly recommend it.

PRICING

Great site we use it regularly (son at Brighton uni) but have to say staying last weekend two nights £62 for two adults, week before 2 nights £42 and 2 weeks time £42. A 50% increase just because its a week before Easter, ( schools not even finished for Easter yet) !!   I feel its a real shame the caravan club have to join the band wagon of exploiting families who can only take these holiday times and increase their rates for such an extended period with no increase of the services on offer, yes we could have gone on a different weekend but the 50% increase had never crossed my mind.

Really nice site

stayed for four nights in March, this is a lovely site close to the marina and Brighton pier. It is easy to get to avoiding Brighton city centre.  The site is kept really nice, with a pleasant Radio 2 playing in the toilet block (some sites seem to have stopped this pleasantry) and had a very relaxed atmosphere. Despite it being cold weather we enjoyed our short break here and hope to go again when the weather is warmer.

Ideal site

Site 2 miles away from Brighton town centre and 20 minutes walk to the marina. Warm welcome given on arrival by wardens and written details given for local bus service into town (every 7 minutes or so) making this an ideal site to stop at overnight or as a base for a longer stay. Site clean and tidy - recommend.

Busy but brilliant site

Although a very busy site, Brighton is a brilliant site. Excellent and well kept facilities, with very welcoming and helpful staff. Well placed for walking on the South Downs or walking in to Brighton. With the Co-op and Lidl a few minutes walk away and a Fish and Chip van visiting on Friday evening. Brilliant!!

First Time and Excellent - I shall return

First time with the caravan club and Brighton site was very clean, well organised, only disruption  was the football match one evening however don't let that put you off it finishes reasonably early. Position is excellent I took my dog Millie and we walked for miles and left the campervan where it was.  Such a pleasure to be able to do that. Bus stops close by, shops close by, everything you need and a great location. Highly recommend for anyone, big playing field close by for kids. So much to do and so many places to walk to without driving.

Lovely stay

We stayed here for a week arriving on a Saturday which was very busy but got quieter in the week. Lovely friendly staff who are helpful. Very clean site.  So easy to walk to Brighton, Hove, marina lovely not to have to use the car all the time. Great for cycling. Big Asda in marina, lidl left out of site, right at lights then left. We did not have children but great for dogs. Friday evening site started filling up and speed became an issue. Supposed to be slow. Would go back but would not like to go in full season must be a very busy site. Yes it's near football ground but was not an issue bit of noise Saturday and one day in week. We stayed in the second tier part of the site.
