Easily accessible site satnav took us straight there. Large pitches, warm nicely decorated toilet block. Short walk to bus and co op (essential for us motorhome owners.) Marina also within easy walking distance
This was a very lovely site with friendly polite and helpful staff. The site is very clean and tidy. You are not that far from the sea front and are about a 40 minute walk to the I360 experience which has lovely views across Brighton.
Our first stay at this site.
Arrived on a Friday night, usual warm welcome from the wardens.
Site was busy and indeed full on the Saturday night. But why was one toilet block closed on Friday night? Did not appreciate a walk in the cold and wet to another block. Having said that, the facilities were good and clean, up to the usual Cub standards. Site felt quiet although it was full.
Will come again for another visit in the future.
Love this site. Stay at this site with my husband twice a year to visit our son and daughter- in- law. We are never disappointed. Friendly hard working wardens, large pitches, plenty of space, spotless facilities. Plenty of walking direct from the site, brilliant for dogs. Buses within 10/15 min walk to all areas of Brighton and Eastbourne, as is local shops. 15/20minute walk to marina. Only given 4 stars for families as don't have small children so couldn't rate it fairly. Just back home after 9 nights, although site almost full every night it was very peaceful, and quiet. Weather was mild and dry for this time of year. Fish and chip van and wood burning pizza visit, didn't use so can't review them. An excellent stay. Will be back next year.
Stayed two nights 11 -12th October 2016. This is a very smart, manicured site, really clean and well laid out. We liked this site very much, well, in almost every way, but for the long walk to get fresh water. With only two water points (that i could find) it can be a long long walk if you are pitched on the far side.
But don't let this put you off this is a very nice site and well worth a visit. Very clean, very quiet and facilities are modern and sparkling!
The staff are friendly & welcoming
Be aware you will need steel pegs for the hard pitches!
Would we come again - Oh! yes, no hesitation.
stayed at Sheepcote Valley Brighton Club site from Friday 7th Oct to Tuesday 11th Oct 2016
had pitch no 82 that over looks the lower shower block
this is one of the best if not the best club site we have ever been to very well laid out nice big pitches
toilets and showers always super clean even at 22.00 at night,
Very easy to get to site look for the camping sign as you come down or up Wilson Avenue or the Whitehawk F.C.sign
must admit ground was a bit hard to get awn
ing pegs in but we use Jumbo pegs they eventually went in,
Brighton City Centre is close go by Bus as Parking in Brighton is not at all cheap !!
Brighton Marina is about 10 minutes walk from site with a large Asda store and a lot of places to eat we used West Quay (Wetherspoons) very good for food (the beer is not too bad either)
All in all a superb site would not hesitate to use it again although we only come from Eastbourne 20 miles away
Well...what a disappointment. Arrived excited about our weekend away only to find that this is the least friendly site we have ever stayed at.
We set up the awning only to find it is a concrete pitch so this was impossible as the pegs could not be hammered in to secure it so we then had to dismantle the whole thing. Despite the fact we were told at reception which way to park and the side we should have an awning / car!!
Then, despite having a play area, every time our children played there (only ever after 9.30am or before 6.30pm) we received disapproving looks and a gentleman even came over to make a comment about the noise. They were simply playing with friends-not yelling across the site.
Very disappointed and despite the excellent location for families I would definitely NOT recommend for anyone with children who want to have fun!
I think there is nothing more infuriating than setting up your pitch only to find that you have to move to another…hang on, no, I tell a lie; its more infuriating to find out that reception knew your chosen pitch had a concrete foundation that the hardest of pegs could not penetrate, but failed to inform you.
There are quite a few negatives in this review but to be fair the site is reasonably good, is close to facilities and we would consider it again if we wanted to visit Brighton. The staff were friendly enough but the changeover rate gave it feel of a commercial operation rather than a CC site. It is large, busy site with a sizeable camping area perfectly located to give access to Brighton. There is building site noise from next door but we did not find it impinged on our stay at all.
The showers were adequate though a little cramped. The toilets and ablutions were cleaned well every day…but why do some people have an aversion to using loo brushes, just a lack of respect to others. And talking of respect, I had the bizarre experience of someone actually overtaking me on the site because I dared to adhere to the 5mph limit. I swear one outfit must have been near 25mph at one point.
There is no dog walk on-site but there is a large park area a few hundred yards from the gate. Now this is fine if you have young fit dogs and you are pitched close to the gate. Not good if you have a couple of old dogs that cannot walk far and your pitch is on the top part of the site. I needed to use the car to get them out for a walk. There appears to be plenty of room for a small dog run so why not make one?
Brighton is an interesting place but very expensive to park anywhere. We planned to use the Volk railway but it is currently closed. A note on the site entry might be useful.
Oh, and the number of the pitch we had to move from…well that would spoil the fun…OK, it was 125.
We stayed for 3 nights whilst visiting relatives nearby and the site was ideal for this. the only challenge was trying to find your way in the van into Brighton via the Marina underpass!
the site was clean and well laid out, we had to have a serviced pitch as they were fully booked and I must admit cannot understand what you pay extra for. the site does not have a dog walk onsite and although there is a large open area outside the site it would be helpful to have a small patch of ground to allow a quick walk first thing in the morning and again at night. It is quite a walk to the outside area. We have just stayed at the Hern Lane site in Berrow and they have managed to fit a petite dog walk in around the outside of the playground and feel sure Brighton could do the same.
Wardens helpful and friendly (no problems like the previous comments) however I feel they were a little rigid with rules I had a disabled relative visit me on site and she was not allowed to drive on in her disabled car even though there was room besides our motorhome
Excellent site, slightly noisy at times but it is a large and busy one. Wardens are second to none, very helpful and the facilities to the usual club standards. Close to Brighton and the seafront as well as Lidl....what else do you need.
We don't very often venture South from East Anglia unless getting to Dover...but this site will be on the list if we do head down again Recommended
