Stop over on way to France

Sailing from Newhaven so decided to spend a night here before we sailed on the 9am. Great site and incredibly helpful and friendly staff (credit to themselves). After a long drive from Manchester and the delights of the M6, M40, M25 and M23 which all had delays arriving & check in was quick, easy and the staff realised we were a tad tired & could not have been more welcoming!. They found us a pitch that was near the entrance so as to make departing easy and quick. Great dog walk right next to the site, spotless facilities and a doddle to get to Newhaven the next morning in about 20 minutes. Would love to go back and spend more time exploring the area.

Lovely stay

Made to feel very welcome upon our arrival by all the very busy staff in reception. This site is in a great location just a short downhill walk away from the marina where you can enjoy the many restaurants and shops then walk off all those calories on the walk back up to the site. The walk along the seafront into brighton is very peaceful or a bus can be caught from the nearby bus stops or a trip to eastbourne in the opposite direction. Staff at the site are very friendly and helpful and always find time to chat even tho it is a very popular busy site, amenities are also well looked after. Would definitely return to this site

Not So Tidy

Again we had a very good stay at Brighton Campsite although a short one,but we did notice this time that the site looked very untidy the grass hadn't been cut for some time stones from pitches were all over the road not swept back onto pitches not good. [On other occasions we've stayed the site has been immaculate.]

Not very user friendly.

I would not recommend this site please read this: BRIGHTON CARAVAN CLUB SITE My mum and dad have been members of the caravan club for over 20 years. 3 months ago my dad suddenly passed away 3 days before they were due to go to Spain for 3 months. My mum had never driven the motorhome before but we took her away a couple of weeks ago and she did great. We encouraged her to go away again and she did last week I recommended going to a caravan club site and if she gets stuck with anything she could ask the wardens to help. She did great until Thursday morning she woke up let the dog out on the caravan club regulation 3m rope. She then noticed the fridge had stopped working. She tried several things but couldn't get it working. She called myself and I was trying to talk her through checking if the Electric had tripped or a breaker in the van had tripped I then tried to get her onto gas. By this time the dog was still outside and had done what dogs do first thing on my mums pitch. It's a border collie so it's not a huge accident. She had been out 10 minutes and mum went to clean it up. A little later the warden came and said there had been a complaint. Mum rang me rather upset. So I rang the wardens and tried to explain, mum had lost her husband this is her first solo trip. The fridge had stopped working etc and the accident had only been there a maximum 10 minutes. She said is you mum a member, I said yes for many years. Her reply was well she should know the rules. I said surely there are far worse things and she hung up on me. I rang back and thanked her for being so helpful she said you are being sarcastic and hung up. She then went to my mum and said she was reporting us. Then when mum left she said again you will be getting a letter. I am furious and the attitude of these people. Yes dog fouling is not nice but 10 minutes on your own pitch. It is about time this country started the customer with some respect, after all if it were not for them there would be no business.

Comment from the Club:

We are very sorry to read your comments about your stay.  We take complaints very seriously and this issue will now be investigated through our official complaint channels at the Club.

Good site for the fit

You need to be fit and a good walker to camp at this site. Site itself is quite a hike away from Brighton town centre. Buses to Brighton are frequent but the bus stop is about ten to fifteen minutes walk away from the campsite through the park, as is the local Lidl. Parking in Brighton itself is tricky. The train that runs along the prom was out of action when we visited. The site sprawls a bit in the way of layout, so loo blocks can be some distance from one's pitch. No queues for showers even though site was full, so I guess most campers have given up on the loo trek and used their own on board facilities. Spotless facilities in the way of shower/loo blocks/food prep/washing up. Pitches are a good size, most are hardstanding. Quite tough going with the tent pegs on the hardstanding. Camp wardens are efficient, well informed and friendly. The place runs like clock work and is kept well. Fish and Chip Van and Pizza Van call once a week at site which is a bonus. There is a café in the nearby park, which opens 9-5 which is worth a visit. The site is mostly tranquil and quiet but it is near a sports field so there can be a little noise in the early evening but we did not find this a problem Wi-Fi for which one pays is so very... very... slow

Great site

Excellent site, very peaceful due to being in East Brighton Park, no traffic noise. If fact so quiet you can hear people in their awnings talking after dark. Very helpful wardens, good modern facilities, short walk to bus and supermarket, good bus services to the town. I expect we will return as we had to cut the visit short due to illness.

Good site

First time to this site, stayed a week. Good location good facilities good wardens good for everything we wanted. We walked everywhere,as we do,and thoroughly enjoyed the area. The ride on the i360 and lunch afterwards was well worth the money (£30 each). Booked to stay again in September. What better endorsement is that?
