Not long back from a 9 night stay at Bingham Grange. The weather weren't up to much, but then it's been that way every summer for the 10 years we have been caravanning, so no reason to expect this year to be any different. Anyway. Quite impressed if I'm honest. Booked it up ages ago and thought no more of it until reading a few mixed reviews before we left, but I actually liked the quirkiness of the site. Yes, it's not your standard CAMC template, but I liked the variety of pitches, the privacy afforded by hedges, and the different sections (some great pitches available for tents). I thought the unisex toilet block worked well, I didn't think it was old or in need of replacement, just "different". The toilet / sink / shower thing in the single room was a great idea, although yet again the flushes were typically inadequate; I swear the CAMC drop bricks into the cisterns to save water. Once the yappy dogs had quietened down (honestly, what pleasure does a yappy dog bring - I'm lost), you could hear a pin drop; as someone who lives on a busy road it was bliss. And then the owls started up! I read from other reviews that this site is due a refurb, I pray - nay beg - that the CAMC don't take the wrecking ball to the character of this site. Final shout out the wardens who were always friendly and professional when I spoke to them, especially the lady in reception who admirally dealt with about 5 units that turned up all at the same time. Basically the traffic on the run down to Dorset was unbelievably light for the time of year and we all arrived bang on 12. I see no reason not to give this site 5 ticks. Could the CAMC look into the viability of building more outdoor pools to its sites? I'm sure there's enough in the coffers! Only we were originally going to spend the summer at Graffham Water but was gutted to hear that the pool was no more.
