Great location but facilities need upgrading
First, the staff are really helpful and friendly, even telephoning us to check we were ok, as we were behind our proposed arrival time. They cannot be faulted. But they face a difficult task with facilities that need a drastic upgrade. The site itself is quite charming, well landscaped, with wonderful views and the pitches are nicely enclosed with bushes and shrubs. We had a great corner pitch. The wifi was fine. With the covid restrictions there are not enough toilets and even without the restrictions there would still not be enough for the number of pitches. Basically the shower / washrooms / toilets are ancient. They leak and users cannot properly clean the floors after use. A shower burst apart this morning, spraying dangerous piping hot water and flooding the place. Of course, these incidents can happen elsewhere but this one is so old, it is clearly worn out. The CAMC has signs urging us to use our own facilities, but there is no reduction in the price.
It is well located and there are great places nearby to eat out, but walking is not an option apart from one pub, owing to the lack of footpaths by the busy road.
There is great potential to upgrade the facilities here, so no reason why it can't become a really great site and, with improvements to the facilities, we would happily return.
