August Stay

We recently stayed for 6 nights. You are allocated a pitch on arrival which differs from most sites. It was very busy when we checked in and were given no information other than where the pitch was and how to pitch up. I didn't discover the second set of loos/showers until the 2nd day. As there are only 5 at the front of the block there were often queues. This is woefully inadequate for the size of the site. I think signage should be in place to let people know about the additional facicilities at the back of the building. All the facilities are at the top of the hill which is quite a trek especially for those camping as these pitches are at the bottom of the site. You do need car to get out and about as there is nothing in walking distance a part from the pub, but the walk does involve several stiles,. negotiating an electric fence, a field of cows and a mucky farm track. I think this should be made clear as not everyone can (or wants) to take on such a walk. We loved the area and had several lovely days out, but feel we could have chosen a better site with more adequate facilities.
