A Marmite Site
We arrived at the site on the Friday before the August Bank Holiday weekend. The site is layout is very tight with culdesacs leaving little room for manoeuvring. so the Wardens sensibly allocated new arrivals a pre-allocated pitch.
While waiting for the wife to book in, I spoke to the warden who explained that the site had received mixed reviews. It was a bit like Marmite you will either love it or hate it!. While many of the comments about the site are valid, Limited facilities which need updated and very tight pitches (Which is where a motor mover is a godsend) we liked the sense of privacy afforded by the Hedges around each pitch.
Wel liked the quiet peaceful nights no traffic noise, lots of wildlife; bird song in the mornings, with an on-site on-site bar whats not to like? If you have your own facilities onboard your caravan or motorhome then the facilities are a minor concern.
We would especially like to thank the staff for their hard work trying to keep clean and maintain a site which has its challenges, while still managing to be friendly and welcoming.
As for location, the site is ideally located for visiting West Bay, Charmouth, Lyme Regis and Dorchester. If If you take a look at some of the more commercial sites located nearby with rows of Caravans with little character, then this site is a gem. We would be happy to return it is just a shame we will have to wait until after the refurbishment.
