Good for families

A great first family camping experience

We've just returned from a long weekend and wanted to emphasise what a positive experience we had. We were greeted on arrival by the lovely site team who checked us in and explained everything, including the wristband system for the toilets and showers. Unlike many other reviewers we were staying in a tent and couldn't have been happier with our pitch (96) - largely enclosed on all 4 sides by hedges it felt quite private and sheltered from the wind. It was our first time using our inflatable tent and we unfortunately hadn't done a test run beforehand so didn't realise that our electric pump was insufficient to fully inflate our tent. In desperation I phoned the site staff (it was early evening and the office had closed). Chris arrived within minutes, realised we needed a stirrup pump and went off on a mission to find someone with an inflatable awning/tent. He re-appeared with one several minutes later (and a massive thank you to whoever agreed to loan it!!!) and stayed to help us until the tent was up, even though we had further issues because the connector was a different size. He really was our knight in shining armour! I'm confused by other comments about the noisy gardening machinery - we heard it once, for a short time, but the grounds are immaculate so that is to be expected! It really is a well kept site - the facilities are very clean and overall we found the site to be extremely neat and tidy. The site teams are approachable, friendly and genuinely interested in their guests. From the dog walkers path on site you can access the Brit Valley Circular Walk which was a really enjoyable walk through fields of corn, cows and sheep. It is well located for visits to West Bay, Lyme Regis and Charmouth - we also went down to Lulworth Cove, Durdle Door and the Isle of Portland. We left a day early to get home before the storm, but there are more things that we want to see and do in the area and would have no hesitation in booking Bridport Bingham Grange again.
