The warden was very helpful when we booked and all was as promised when we arrived. It's a bit bleak but there is lots of fairly recent tree planting that will soften the appearance over the next few years. The welcome is very friendly and the site is well managed, clean and comfortable. Nearby pubs include the Martonian (a sports pub) in Marton and The Ship Inn in Sewerby. We much preferred the latter, more traditional with excellent food and friendly service. I can recommend this site for its facilities and its location. I have no idea whether it's good for families and I marked it down for peace and quiet because we were on a pitch quite near the office and people seemed to sped ages chatting by our van. I'd visit again.
