Great site, Great location, Great Facilities, Great Staff

Brecon Beacons Club Site was the 2nd site we visited on our recent trip to Wales, we stayed for 4 nights. On arrival to the club we were greeted by a staff member who gave us some good advice about the site in relation to the toilet blocks, dog walk and also areas that got sun in the morning or in the evening. We ended up on a pitch to the North West of the site, the pitch was a hard standing and was flat and level with plenty of space for our van, awning and car. The only slight gripe I had was that in this location, you did get some noise from A470 road, especially in the morning. We tend to look for pitches with grass area's around them, which this had, which suites us as we like to have our dogs outside (tethered of course), and they enjoy being nosy watching people walking. In relation to dogs, there is a really lovely dog walk to the south end of the site, and if you want to go a bit further there are directions from the dog walk along to the village of Groesffordd where you will find the Three Horse Shoes pub which is dog friendly, has a lovely beer garden and serves fabulous food. About the site, it is large with 100+ pitches and 2 toilet blocks, however we never felt that the site was crowded at all, despite it being busy when we were there. There was a great variety of pitches, from what I could see, all looked in good condition and the site itself was clean and well kept. In relation to the facilities, these were immaculate, for such a large site, no matter what time I used the facilities they were clean and tidy (some times I wondered if anyone else used them... it was that quiet in there!!). In addition every morning the staff would be out cleaning all of the water and service points. I was very impressed with how well this site was looked after by the staff. On the location, this is a fantastic place to explore the Brecon Beacons, Brecon itself is a 20 minute walk away down the canal tow path and the town itself has plenty of shops, pubs, restaurants and coffee shops. If you are more of the adventurous type, then Pen Y Fan is 15 minutes drive away. There are lots of walks right out of the site if you want to stay on the flat and I would recommend the walk to Groesffordd and then down the canal towards Brecon town. We found a spot for some wild swimming in the River Usk (you can see the photo location on the sites club photos). Overall a great site for relaxing or exploring, beautifully clean and tidy. We will definitely be back.
