Wonderful Site

I read all the reviews on this site before arriving and thought oh my, this site is going to be awful. Well it most assuredly isn't. It's by 2 main roads, you can see that on the map, so don't complain about road noise - what do you expect!!! The site is spotlessly clean, the grass mown to within an inch of its life, the toilet blocks pristine and warm and welcoming. We didn't use the shop, so cannot comment on that, but there is a shop. Saturday night a pizza van turned up which was very nice. There are so many walks and bike rides from this site. Just over the road you can access the canal and you can walk into Brecon or into the countryside. Its a wonderfully leisurely walk, level (it being a canal) and you can ride your bike along it for miles. Don't be suprised if you get wet and muddy, it does have puddles along the way. Brecon itself is not that exciting, but there are a few nice shops and coffee shops, so its worth a visit for an afternoon. We drove up to Pen-y-fan where there is lots of parking in the form of laybys all along the road complete with burger vans and magnificent views. The walk up Pen-y-fan is very do-able with a wide well looked after path, but it does get very busy in high season, even in March it was busy. All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our few days in Brecon and would recommend it.
