First visit to Brecon Beacons site and certainly not our last

A very well laid out site with large pitches and excellent facilities which are kept in spotless condition. Lovely staff on site who are courteous, helpful and a mine of useful information. There is a well stocked shop on site with all those essentials. The local pub is within walking distance via the dog walk - lovely ales, very good food and lovely staff (book in advance as the pub was busy when we called at 6.30pm) There were wonderful views, from our caravan, of the Brecon Beacons (mountains) which were lightly dusted with snow. There are lots of interesting places to visit within a half an hour drive: Hay on Wye a great place to wander around. Lots of wildlife with buzzards and red kites hovering overhead. The first morning on site we rose to find a large ball made up of twigs and moss in our tow hitch cover: this was removed and was thought to have built up during winter storage of our van. The following morning a large ball of twigs had once again appeared inside the cover and as I looked inside a robin appeared with a mouth full of twigs: wonderful and I have the photos to prove it. Night skies are incredible as light pollution is low: the walk back from the pub in almost pitch darkness (take a torch) was a pleasure as we tried to identify some of the major constellations. We had a pitch alongside our friend's caravan ' and they have a dog (Brinkley) - importantly the site is very doggy friendly (as is the pub)
