Typically excellent club site!

We stayed for 6 nights after the May w/e. A really great site, well laid out and the serviced pitch we choose was excellent. The welcome was warm and the wardens were always naturally friendly and helpful. Facilities blocks were great and a high standard of service and comfort. The radio playing in the blocks was very welcome. Good drying room and an excellent shop. Maybe as another reviewer said , there could be more loos in the Gents but I never had to wait, even at the w/e. Locally the area is full of charm and the walks available are numerous and as challenging or as gentle as you want. I found a really good cycle route with little traffic and a hill to stretch legs and test lungs out past Talybont. Local shops were a treat - especially the butchers who sold fantastic meat. We especially liked the venison from the farm shop in Bwlch. Will hopefully return in the future.

Excellent site, but

Three nights, May 2017. It's not a quiet site, bordered by the A40 and A470. And it's popular with weekend dog owners. Unfortunately a minority are selfish. We were woken between 6.00am and 7.00am by a lady walking a dog off a leash which was sniffing around our pitch. Shortly after we were woken again by by another lady walking two dogs on leashes which chose to bark at each other every five yards or so of their progress to the dog walk. It did not seem to occur to the owner that everyone else was still asleep at 7.15am. But the main source of noise are HGVs on the roads that border two sides of the site. But that applies during the working week to many caravan sites and most people get used to it. Our only other beef was hot seating in the toilet blocks. Like New Forest C&MC site, Brecon has recently been refurbished and the Club's planners must believe males are constipated. After all these years you would hope they could get this right, but no, there are not enough sit down loos in the male toilets. On the positive side the wardens were excellent and very helpful. My wife's Polo had a sticky ignition switch quickly sorted by Julie. Other than the restricted loo seating the toilet blocks are excellent, warm, spacious and the showers are hot if that's what you want, unlike some Club sites. The onsite shop is one of the best on the Club network, and is really a small supermarket that also sells caravan accessories. It's a great site for the Brecon Beacons and we shall return, just not at weekends.

Great May Weekend

What can I say? First Club site we have stayed on despite being a member for a while. It far exceeded expectations. We were ready for road noise and we got very little. Great pitch, plenty of space. Great staff in the shop and office. Great up to date clean facilities. We went with friends and had next door pitches. We had a great May weekend and will be back 😃

4 nights

Just spent 4 nights at the Brecon site, have to say site was quiet after the bank holiday but looks busier tonight.(Friday)Site is clean and tidy , shower areas spotless. So I can highly recommend the site to young and old. Plenty of things to in the area. Hay on Wye is quaint, Brecon is worth visiting and if I can recommend the Wellington Hotel in Brecon for a cheapy 3 course meal £11.50 after 5:00pm about 8 choices and plentiful portions , recently refurbished so tidy place..

Great site. Stayed for 4 nights end of April

We stayed here at the end of the Easter Holidays so when we arrived on the Friday the site was very full. We booked a serviced pitch and could only find one (67) in the field by the road which was very noisy most of the time. We coped with it and didn't allow it to spoil our holiday. After the Easter Break lots of pitches became available but we couldn't be bothered to take everything down to move. Note that this pitch did not get any sun at all. Other than the lack of sun and the noise this site is perfect. The facilities and site are clean and well maintained. TV and internet reception are good, although mobile phone reception is poor. The dog walk on site is lovely, and there is a short walk to a local pub where the food is meant to be really good. (Three Horseshoes). There was a play ground and field for children which looked quite good. Brecon is a couple of miles away and a nice walk along the canal will get you there in about 40 - 45 minutes. There's loads to do in this are, we loved it and will definitely be returning. Highly recommended.

fantastic

Stayed on this site for 4 nights over the Easter weekend. Amazing site with best stocked shop we have ever seen, toilets and showers very clean. A beautifully layed out site with plenty of spaces between pitches. Their is rather a lot of traffic noise, which gets quieter through the night. great walks and cycling along the Monmouth and Brecon canal. The Brecon beacons are about 10 miles away, so if like us and staying in a motorhome you could get a taxi or cycle. Really nice pub (Royal Oak) along the canal. Great site for dog walking. Staff very friendly and helpful.

A great site

This was our first visit to this site and we sincerely hope to be back. The wardens were very friendly and helpful, keeping the site in first condition. We found the site so easy to fine, just off the A40 and so much to explore in the area

A good balance

We stayed for just under a week. The pitches are in rows but with good space for each pitch. However this meant there was little room for children to play near your pitch unless you were lucky to have unoccupied pitches near you. But this was offset by a fabulous playing field with goalposts and a small play area nearby and a separate adventure trail, so very good. There is a lovely walk along the towpath to Brecon, once you've negotiated the busy dual carriageways. The shop is very well stocked and I found the lady there to be very helpful and friendly. The wardens keep the place spotless. We'd probably return for a weekend visit
