Another fabulous stay at Borrowdale this weekend and again, it didn’t disappoint. The wardens couldn’t be more friendly and helpful. On the last day we had an incident with our roof-light and the warden was so helpful - he got up in the roof with his ladder and secured it with strong tape for our journey home. Great service with a big friendly smile - what more could you wish for?! We stayed on pitch 8 which meant we had some sunshine for the middle of the day and we’re able to stay outside the van, enjoying being in the heart of the woods and listening to the birdsong. Absolutely idyllic. As usual we strolled along the boardwalk in the evenings to enjoy watching the sun go down over Catbells whilst sipping a glass of wine in the gardens of the beautiful Mary Mount Hotel. We did the obligatory walk up Catbells given the close proximity of the site to one of the main footpaths. We were even treated to seeing a wedding party in full regalia, equipped with walking boots, enjoying themselves in style on their special day. What a fabulous bank holiday weekend we had and are booking again for later in the summer. This site is a firm favourite and we can’t recommend it highly enough!
