We loved this site. Yes, it is a bit of tricky drive but take your time and be extra careful. Our arrival was friendly and very professional, making us very welcome. Location is great, in secluded woodland with plenty of wildlife, including very vociferous cuckoos and shy red squirrels. A short walk to boat taxi service (20mins) or to the Borrowdale Hotel (20mins). Cycling is great from the site, but try to use the quiter roads, Easy access to the Cat Bells walking route, then plenty of energy and water required .....worth it for the view at the end. Site shop is small, but they a great selection of essentials and local goodies, including bacon, cumberland suasages and local breads. Oh...and should add ice cream. In summary lovely site, with nicest wardens you would hope to find........we hope to be back one day.
