Just had a fantastic bank holiday here, the wardens were great and helpful and kept the site in tip top condition saying that it is in the middle of the woods. Direct access to the lake and a walk across to Lodore Falls Hotel. Plenty to do in the area with plenty of places to eat and drink. Keswick is only 4 miles away and has a weekly market. One word of advise, please take the last 5 miles from Keswick very careful as people drive to quick on the narrow windy roads (i had my OS towing mirror smashed off by a mad Citroen driver). This has not put us off and we will be back for a longer stay as there is so much to do. Bank holidays are very busy and you may struggle to get through Manesty as they all double park. This site is a credit to the network and has loads of individual pitches set within the trees. It is a walkers paradise but has plenty for everybody. It was a pity that the launch had to cancel 5 of the 7 stops due the height of the water in the Lake. We will be back.
