peacfull break
We have stayed at this site on a number of occasions. We usually go in October for the change of colours on the trees. Thought we would have a change and go early.
The fact there is no toilet block does not bother us, you have the facilities in your caravan so the fact you can stop in a prime location for half the price is a bonus.
We walked to Castle Cragg , and Keswick from the site. We caught the bus back from Keswick getting off at the Lodore Falls hotel , and walked across to the site the wood platform. The 77 bus that drops you outside the site had broken down ,which is not good as its not that frequent .The car only moved once on Sunday to go to Buttermere. For walkers this is in a great location. I wont go on too much as I don't want it to become so popular that we cant get on. We will definitely return. We wasn't lucky enough to see the red squirrel or the deer this time, but other people had spotted plenty of wildlife.
