We visited in the first week of July - not the greatest weather but good for walking etc. The site was wonderful - total peace. There is no toilet or shower block but we knew that before we arrived and the wardens were very careful to check that we did before pitching up! It was a great test of our caravan shower etc. I suppose for families it may not be quite so much fun as you will be running out of water quite quickly but depends on your attitude. The surrounding area is wonderful with plenty of walks and stunning scenery. As you are so far from any shops (unless you want to drive) it would be helpful to have a few more food items for sale by the wardens but I appreciate that may not be possible. Wardens very helpful and very cheerful. Would love to come back one day
