We made this our second stop on our way to Royal Birkdale to the Open Golf. Again we had never been here before and thought we would give it a try. Yet another gem on the sites network, peace, tranquility, great walking and cycling. Stayed 3 nights and once again it was not nearly long enough so a return visit is in order. The site was manned by 2 relief wardens who gave us lots of tips on where to go regarding local buses, walks etc. You can walk to the lake from the site and on a good path. We also cycled to Keswick which is about 4 miles away and not too hard a run. Lots of shops and eateries plus a couple of supermarkets for provisions. The site is beautifully laid out in little nooks and crannies and the wildlife was amazing. We had a robin visit every time we sat out looking for goodies - we didn't disappoint her!! Again a site with no toilet block but this is never a problem and allows us to make full use of our own facilities. Highly recommended for peace and quiet.
