We stayed at Borrowdale for 4 nights towards the end of July. What a lovely site! It's in a fantastic location very close to the Lake Shore, the Derwent Water Circular Path and straight out of the site for the walk up Cat Bells. As previously mentioned the approach road is narrow and although we had no problem on the day we arrived we did encounter some issues on the Monday morning when we left, there was in issue with a bin wagon who refused to reverse, however when he did eventually move to let us past a rather over eager fish delivery driver behind him proceeded to ignore the fact we were trying to get through and got so stuck that we ended up having to unhitch and physically drag the caravan clear! Whilst this was quite stressful it wouldn't put us off returning as there is so much more to see in the area than we had time for.
