First time visitor - Amazing :)
We have been club members for many years and are regular visitors to the Lake District. Our usual site is at Coniston although we had always intended to come to Keswick at some point.
Arrival is a little tricky as there is a narrow road from Keswick (Buses and lorries are a struggle) and then a turn taking you over a narrow humped back bridge - Slow and steady sees you well, but perhaps not ideal for those less confident in towing.
The entrance to sight involves a very tight right hand turn, just take this nice and wide. Reception was excellent and the warden was super helpful and so very friendly.
The site is set amongst trees so there are no views as such, but it is s lovely site and very pretty in its own right. Pitches are not the biggest but more than enough for our unit and awning. No WIFI to the pitch but i had a very strong 4G signal (O2) which was fine.
We are hill walkers so the location is absolutely fantastic for Cat Bells and the nearby wainwrights.
Lack of toilet/shower isn't an issue for us as we have a new caravan with all onboard. The waste disposal area was clean and not far away at all.
The shop on site stocked all of the essentials, but come prepared as nearest proper show is a 7 mile drive through narrow roads.
A lap of the lake is about 10 miles and is lovely, as well as a coupe of pubs along the way to break up the journey.
I am already booked back for the May Bank Holiday!
