Having visited the site right at the beginning of the season, all feeders were empty and there were no squirrels around. The site staff need to proactively fill feeders on arrival and encourage visitors to do so too. Maybe the site fee could include an initial small squirrel food pack. (The site fee is quite expensive given lack of facilities). Apparently there are local people e.g.'squirrel Susan' who would be willing to fill feeders overwinter to help maintain squirrels on site, rather than trying to attract them back each year. The squirrels are a huge site asset which should be more strongly encouraged. Site staff very friendly and helpful.
