Fantastic Borrowdale
Your experience at the site begins as you drive through the entrance and pull up to register.steve and Dee, the wardens have a blackboard which I'd updated daily with all the relevant info - market day, delivery of the famous Woodhalls sausage and black pudding from Waberthwaite, next register and you meet Steve and Dee who are doing so much for the site. Off you go to find your pitch. Well, we found ours and have stayed an extra two days! From the camper window we have seen and photographed 14 species of birds and the squirrels delighted us thus morning on,y ten feet away. We've caught the Rambler bus into Keswick going the short way over Catbells and the long way via Seatoller Honister Pass and Slate mines, Buttermere Crummock Water, Whimlatter pass, Braithwaite and finally Keswick. Don't forget you bus pass if you have one!
Unfortunately, we leave tomorrow but will certainly be back again.
Yes there isn't a toilet block, but as someone has already said most caravans and campers have their own toilet and shower these days. facilities otherwise are great. Dee even sells the bird feeders, which we didn't know so brought our own!
Thanks Dee and Steve for all your hard work. It's certainly one of the best sites we've been on both in the UK and Europe.
