I have visited Borrowdale site many times and absolutely love it. Having read the previous review it appears we don’t all appreciate the same things. The approach to the site can be a tad interesting but not too difficult. Once on site the wardens are wonderfully helpful and friendly. The views outside the site are amazing and being able to walk through the gate out to the Lake is wonderful. Walks abound from the site and there are ones to suit all levels of fitness. We have been fortunate to sit in our caravan and watch deer, hare, red squirrel, woodpecker and lots of other birds. In the evening listening to the screech of Owls on their nightly hunt. No there are no toilet blocks, the pitches are pretty shady and the WiFi non existent on the pitches but non of that matters a jot compared to the peace and quiet, outstanding scenery and walks and the wildlife. We can’t wait for our next visit!
