Beauty and tranquility...

The road in from Keswick is a little challenging for those with larger caravans but nothing to worry about if you take your time and are cautious. Pitches are spacious and even when in close proximity to each other, they remain quite private as they are set among the trees that form a natural screen. We all know that a beautiful site is only really half the story and a site can stand or fall on the quality of its upkeep and the care and attention of its wardens. The wardens on this site excel. Lynne and Mike are absolutely superb wardens and very approachable and personable too. As a 'noob' caravanner I was sure I was the bane of their lives when on site but they dispensed help and advice with a smile, from arrival to leaving. Two genuinely lovely and experienced wardens. Their camp shop is not overpriced and stocks all the essentials as well as a few little luxuries. I can't wait to return and explore more of the wonderful Derwent Water when I have more time.
