A weekend is both enough!!
Such a peaceful site and I honestly don’t want to leave.
The road from the bridge at Grange is very narrow but take it slow and you be ok. (Also a quick google of the bus times will ensure you don’t meet the little shuttle bus that passes the site).
The big problem is walkers that park in the passing places. These are clearly marked and parking is prohibited. I was very happy to see the parking warden out issuing tickets.
Take the left turn into the site nice and wide. Warden lovely and the site shop is very well stocked with some lovely local fresh food and the usual essentials (card payment accepted in the shop as well).
I stayed on pitch 13. It is an awning pitch but you have no chance of getting one up if you also have a car (would be perfect for Motorhome though). This was no problem though as the site is just beautiful. Wildlife outside every window and sorry families but no screaming children!!
It’s just peace and quite with the occasional red squirrel.
Fantastic for walking and some superb views once you get up the hills.
Local Mary mount hotel bar (30min walk from site) is open to all and the views of the lake and mountains are just fantastic.
I took a trip to Whitehaven on Saturday as I wanted to visit the harbour and the Run Story.
I honestly could spend a week at this site and still have things that I want to do.
I will defiantly be back next year and hopefully for a little longer.
