Just returned from a 4 night break (well actually only stayed 3 nights but booked 4 so we didn't have to depart by 11am). Site is in a perfect location adjacent to Strid Wood and the river. The river walk is a 6 mile round trip if you do the full loop to Barden Bridge and the Priory. Absolutely stunning through the bluebell woods but dogs are only allowed on leads. Our dog walks to heel and we were still told off by a twitcher for not having him on a lead. The only drawback for us was the lack of phone signal. Having left kids at home with family we felt nervous that we couldn't be contacted in an emergency and this will probably prevent us from returning in future.
