This is the perfect location for great walks and cycling. Bolton Abbey is a mere 2.5 mile bike ride which gives you access to miles of riverside walking with an excellent cafe at Bolton Abbey and another along the riverside. The Tea Rooms by the entrance to the site offers cream teas and coffee and is well worth a visit to view the craftwork on sale. The site is perfect to hear the dawn chorus with cuckoos, curlews and song thrushes everywhere, the site itself is very well kept with friendly and efficient wardens who offer basic essentials at the shop, milk,eggs,tonic water etc!. Toilet blocks are very clean and warm but woefully small, four showers is simply not enough but overall this is a five star site without doubt.
