A big shout out to Bev, the warden who recommended the Community bus. We arrived on a Friday and were disappointed to find that there is no bus service over the weekend (we have a motorhome so like to bus or walk and leave the van on site). Bev mentioned the Moorlands Connect bus which can be booked by phone or on the app. We managed to get through on the phone just before they closed and were able to book to go into Leek on the Saturday and Buxton on the Sunday. The service was excellent. Although we couldn’t use our passes they entitled us to a £3.50p return fare each. They picked up/dropped off at the door or the nearby pub and we got texts to keep us updated. They also allow dogs free of charge. The service was so good we booked to go into Ashbourne on the Monday. We were speaking to the driver and he mentioned that they had funding for four years but it is so under used it may not be renewed. It was like a taxi service as we were the only people on it for every trip. All in all a fantastic service. We found the wardens very friendly, the site clean and the flower display at reception was beautiful.
