Top0 for walking and sight-seeing

I have just had 3 weeks on site. Everything very clean and well presented. Super helpful staff. Buxton is 6 miles away and Leek 3. There are loads of opportunities to walk from the site. Tittesworth and Rudyard Reservoirs are both within walking distance via well demarked and directed footpaths as are The Roaches. All are well worth seeing. Leek is a busy little market town with plenty of places to eat, drink and shop. Two local pubs worth finding are:- 1) The :Lazy Trout at Meerbrook (30 minutes walk) and 2) The blue Mugge on Osborne Street at Leek (1 hours walk away but handy for a ride back on the bus). Bus to Leek or Buxton and returns every two and a half hours (full timetable in reception). If you intend to do any walking I would suggest you purchase one or both Yellow Maps that are on sale in reception for under a fiver. All of the paths and bridleways are shown. Nice day out in Buxton and some other interesting local villages and things to see (An internet search or a chat to some Leek locals will find these). Have a look at the plaque opposite reception and the associated information boards around the site to discover the history of this site and its use back to WW2. Occasionally there is road noise at the very 'bottom'of the suite near to the main road or the very 'top-' where there is a Motorbike trials training area. This only operates once or twice a week during daylight hours and is not intrusive. Nice PIZZA oven on site Thursdays and Saturdays.
