Long weekend break

We chose this site as we'd never been to Leek before and wanted to visit their Sat. Antiques market. Arrived on the Friday and were welcomed by the warden who gave a full briefing. Pitch availability was mixed, we chose 59 at the top and were pleased we did ( as the pitches near the road would have been very noisy as the road was quite a race track!!). We needed levelling . blocks but the views from the pitch were good over to the rocky tor and fields behind. The shower block was immaculate and site well maintained. Having a motorhome we like to pitch up and use public transport. Bus stop just down road with buses to Leek every two hours. Waitrose on the bus route. There is a good dog friendly pub called The Cock serving local real ales and a dog friendly cafe called The Spout. Sadly The Three Horseshoes nearest the site ( a hotel/spa) doesn't accept dogs even in the bar which is a shame given the location to the site. The dog walk on site is limited and near the road (hence dogs must be on lead) although it is adequate with plenty of dog bins. Great walk from the site ( turn right and follow pavement to wooden public footpath sign) into open hilly countryside. We hope to return.
