First trip after lockdown
Desperate for a break after nearly 4 months, we booked Blackshaw Moor, but this was not our first choice. But what a pleasant surprise! The location so near to Leek, but on the edge of the specatular Peak District was excellent. The lay out of the site was spacious with terraced levels.
A slight downside was the traffic noise from the main road, but once settled in, we didn't notice it.
There are lots of places to visit, walk and shop - to suit all tastes.
The history of the site is interesting, in that it was once a base for Polish soldiers after WW2.
As you walk around the site, there are small photo boards showing what it was like during those times.
How the site was organised for these Covid times was excellent and reassuring.
Finally, we must mention the warden team, who were some of the most welcoming we have come across. And what an excellent job they did, always with a smile and a wave.
Thank you wardens.
