Escape on your doorstep

We spent last weekend on this site and it was excellent. Considering it's location less than an hour from Manchester or Sheffield you'd be mistaken for thinking as you look at the surrounding scenery that it was in the wilds of Wales or Lowland Scotland. The all gravel pitches were huge and well maintained and the staff allowed us to choose our own. As the site is terraced each one has some view and as the foliage comes back in the summer it will be even more secluded. The main road which runs past the site was not overly busy and quietened down by early evening. The staff couldn't have been more helpful and the toilet blocks were excellent with even a drying room for walking clothes provided. Only down side was local pub didn't allow dogs in at all which is their loss with such a busy site on the doorstep. We are always looking at travelling to new sites but with such a nice one being so local we will be back even if it's only for first weekend spring break.
