A lovely, clean, spacious site
We had a lovely stay. The site is easy to find, being on the main road between Buxton and Leek, and we were warmly welcomed. As instructed we looked around and saw that all the pitches seemed spacious so allowing a feeling of privacy whichever pitch was chosen. We had a choice of the available pitches but unfortunately these were pretty much all near the entrance and the road - something that may have been more of a concern for us as we live in a quiet area. That said, the traffic noise wasn't excessive and calmed down at night.
The facilities are superb. A simple Covid/hygiene protocol ensures toilet/washing facilities don't get overcrowded and you'd never know they were communal as they were so clean. There's several water/grey water/waste points around the site, plus a couple of chemical waste points.
Around 3 sides there's a track aimed for dog owners but pleasant for those without pooches too. Walking around the site is pleasurable as there's pictures showing what was previously on the site from WW2, as well as small novelty scenes. It all made the stay so much more than just any old site.
There's plenty of supermarkets and other shopping in Leek, and the 3 Horsehoes pub (10 mins walk) serves very good food. Tittesworth reservoir (managed by Severn Trent) offers a nice place for gentle walks, picnic and play area and a cafe/restaurant facility. All well maintained and run.
