Mixed review - difficult decision.

DO NOT ARRIVE EARLY! We arrived 25 mins early to find a notice blocking the entrance reminding you that the earliest arrival is 12, having no room to turn around a twin axle van I had to proceed down the narrow lane hoping there was somewhere to turn around. Luckily there was a roundabout at the end of the lane. We managed to park up down the lane opposite the site to await the opening time. Whilst waiting, another outfit turned up, blocked the gateway and sign and wandered in to find the wardens. We pulled onto the site behind them at 12 to find them being berated by the warden, they had been before so should have been aware. The smell on the site was certainly interesting, the pig farm opposite the site was not the most pleasant experience, and the noise from the road used as a racetrack by the locals was terrible. I understand that these two aspects are beyond the control of the site, but be aware. The facilities are clean and well maintained, (cleaned everyday just before 12 so the wardens are not available to let you on the site), but the door locks on the toilets are too high for children to be able to reach. I saw one child allowed in by his mother to the gent s loo, but he then could not reach the lock to get back out. Playground is usual basic layout. The site is ideal to drive into Blackpool, 1 road to get to the sea front. But would I return............not sure I would. The smell for 2 of the three days we stayed was terrible, that combined with the noise does not make for a relaxing time away. This was during a cold weekend in October, so I dread to think what the smell could be like in the high summer.
